Ginger over at GReads created this fantastic TGIF meme featuring a question and a weekly recap.

This Friday's Question:
Book Series Finales: Which book, from any series has been your favorite ending? What about your least favorite ending?

My favorite series ending (it was just perfect for this trilogy) was Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness.  I know, I know, I babble incessantly about how much I love this series in general - but seriously you guys, it's awesome!  I was afraid that I wouldn't like the last book in the trilogy because of my intense love of the others (sometimes I can pump up my expectations to skyscraper proportions) but this book definitely delivered!
My least favorite ending would have to be Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins.  Don't hate me guys, I know I'm not alone in this!  The ending wasn't necessarily bad it just felt rushed and I would have liked to savor it a bit more (sorry for the vagueness, I'm just trying not to be spoilery).
What about you guys?  Do you have any particularly good or bad endings to series?

  1. I agree about hating the ending of Mockingjay but for Monsters of Men, I would have liked something more definitive! :--)

  2. I liked Mockingjay but can see why many people didn't get into it. And I'm just about to start the Monsters of Men series - just a few pages in and I'm hooked!

  3. YAY for Monsters of Men! I loved the ambiguity and beauty of the ending so much. :)

  4. Cool choices! Mine are at YA Yeah Yeah if you'd like to take a look. (I had Mockingjay for a 'worst' one as well - hate that ending, although I can see why some people like it.)

  5. I liked Mockingjay, but I understand what you mean about the rushed ending. I need to read the Monsters of Men series soon. Great answer!

  6. Um, do you know how much I love this post?
    I think you do.
How much did Monsters of Men GRIP YOU? OH! It WAS perfect, wasn't it???
I just adore that series. I really, really do. And I adore that you love it too, because your opinions mean so much to me as a fellow blogger and reader. I'm so thrilled right now.

    1. Uh, also TOTALLY agree on Mockingjay. I can't even talk about it. Ugh.
