Monday Memes

Hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.  We share books that we've read over the past week and those we hope to read this week.

Last Week:
Last week I finished up I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith and then managed to read both Ill Wind by Rachel Caine and Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder.

This Week:
I plan to finish A Sight for Sore Eyes by Ruth Rendell (the Btown Bookster's latest pick) and then maybe I'll read my latest library book picks - The Rook by Daniel O'Malley and Heft by Liz Moore.

Mailbox Monday is a touring meme where book bloggers share their bookish acquisitions from the week prior.  It is hosted this month by Cindy's Love of Books.

As I said last week, I got a boatload of books from my local library sale and I forgot to mention a few others that I snagged:

On Beauty by Zadie Smith

The Three Weissmanns of Westport by Cathleen Schine

The Game by Diana Wynne Jones

Fear of Flying by Erica Jong

On the Beach by Nevil Shute

  2. Oh, you just reminded me that I have an unread copy of Cathleen Schine's novel somewhere around the house. I need to find it and read it! Enjoy all your new books.

  5. The Schine novel is an adaptation of Sense & Sensibility I think. I haven't had a chance to read it yet! Fear of Flying is one of those books that I must have read right when I needed it. Kind of changed my life a little. Enjoy!

  6. Ooo, On the Beach is one of the creepiest books I've read but since its sort of a dystopian book, I really, really liked it. If you ever get a chance, you should watch the movie. I think it came out in the 1950s or 1960s and its a really good one!
