Friday Memes

Book Blogger Hop

First up, the Book Blogger Hop hosted by Crazy-For-Books.com.  Click on the icon above to be taken to a list of book blogs...it's enjoyable to peruse and you may just find a couple of fun blogs to follow!

“Share your favorite post from the last month and tell us why it’s close to your heart!”

I think my favorite post from the last month is actually my only non-bookish post.  It's my post concerning strange road trip destinations - I love to travel and I love the quirky things in life!  Sometimes it's nice to inject a bit of yourself into the blog (beyond your tastes in books).  That way you can connect with your readers a bit more.  As long as don't stray from your main content too often - I think it's nice to share little glimpses of your personality.  Do you folks feel the same?

Also, Happy Follow Friday!  Again click on the pic to be taken to a whole slew of new book blogs.  The question of the day:

Q. What are you doing to prepare for an upcoming zombie apocalypse and/or the return of Mel Gibson to the silver screen? (Both of which could be terrifying.)

Haha...interesting question.  Welp, I must say that I am woefully under-prepared for a zombie apocalypse.  I've seen a few movies...which help a bit:

I've also gleaned tips from the film Zombieland such as: keep up with your cardio, be sure to double-tap when killing zombies, and wear your seatbelt.  On the book front, I actually just checked out World War Z by Max Brooks from the lib...so that should be helpful.  Otherwise I'm hopelessly lost I may need to go out and get The Zombie Survival Guide to put my mind at ease :)

As far as Mel Gibson's return to movies...um, I plan on pretty much ignoring it.  I'm not down with bigotry and that beaver film that he's using as a comeback...well, it's shudder-inducing.

Enjoy your weekend folks!  Also, don't forget to enter my beach reads giveaway!

  1. I still hope the zombie's come before Mel's return.

  7. When the zombies rise, I would recommend splitting up as much as possible. Or no wait, that's what you do when searching for clues to solve the mystery of the Fun Park Phantom. I always get those two mixed up. My bad.

  9. Hey Kat! I definitely agree- I try to infuse my personality into my blog and give readers a glimpse of my life. I would much rather know more vs. less about a blogger who I follow!

Sometimes it's hard for me to decide how much is too much, but I think it's a learning process. Plus analytics can tell you how much people liked a certain topic, too!

I'm a new follower! Can't wait to read more of your posts! :)

  12. As the saying goes – the best defense is a good offense. I’ve got that covered! My preparations for the zombie apocalypse are not just intricate, they’re stylish. I’m not talking “last stand” stuff here. I mean to lure in the zombies and slaughter them wholesale while we sip champagne and watch.

How am I going to do that? Follow me back to my blog at http://www.howardsherman.net and read all about it.

    Thank G-d it’s Follow Friday!

  15. Hi Kat! New follower from FF. Sounds like you aren't giving yourself enough credit on the zombie preparedness front... One or two good zombie flicks and you should be good to go!
