Library Loot: June 1-8

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Marg (Reading Adventures) and Claire (The Captive Reader) that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.

This week I have 3 lovely books:

One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd by Jim Fergus...I already finished this one - great historical fiction about the American West and the clash of cultures between whites and the Cheyenne natives.

Ice Land by Betsy Tobin...an epic story filled with romance and adventure - apparently based on a Norse myth.  Sounds amazing, right?

Lastly, The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley...a mystery starring a gutsy little kid, named Flavia, as the sleuth!

  1. All three look good! Well, I read One Thousand White Women and thought that was really good. I haven't read the author's newest book yet, though.

I also want to read Sweetness.

Have a good time with these great books.

  2. I really enjoyed reading One Thousand White Women. The story is unique, so I haven't forgotten it even four years later. Here's my review:

  4. I've heard good things about Sweetness but I'm not usually into mysteries so I'm not sure how I would like it!

  5. Hi Kat! I love your loot!
One Thousand White Women sounds fascinating. I recall when the there was a lot of buzz about it but I admit I kind of forgot about it. I'll have to add it to my list to check out.

Ice Land does indeed sound amazing! Another one I need to look for!

Last but not least, the Flavia mysteries are on my list to read.. I'm comforted knowing my library has all of them on the shelf just waiting or me.

    Enjoy your loot! :)
