It's Monday! What Are You Reading? & Mailbox Monday

Hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.  We share books that we've read over the past week and those we hope to read this week.

Last Week:

  • Habibi by Craig Thompson
  • The Poison Throne by Celine Kiernan
  • The Crowded Shadows by Celine Kiernan
  • The Rebel Prince by Celine Kiernan
This Week:

  •  Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
  • The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson
  • The Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury (love me some Bradbury!)

Mailbox Monday is a touring meme where book bloggers share their bookish acquisitions from the week prior.  It is hosted this month by Savvy Verse and Wit.

This past week I only received one treat in the mail!

The Bright and Distant Shores by Dominic Smith
"Smith's impressive third novel (after The Beautiful Miscellaneous) is an absorbing exploration of culture, tradition, and renewal...Smith expertly combines well-drawn characters with a complex narrative that moves smoothly to the dawn of a new century." -- Publishers Weekly, Starred Review and "Pick of the Week"

Can't wait to read it!

  5. I haven't read Bradbury since high school. I was born and raised in the same town as him. I should really revisit his books.

  6. OH MY GOODNESS YOU WILL LOVE DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE! THAT IS ALL. IT IS AMAZING. One of my favorite of the year, hands down.

I actually thought about tweeting you specifically and telling you to GET IT!!!! Just earlier today, actually. Great minds think alike, so so often.
