Hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. We share books that we've read over the past week and those we hope to read this week.
Last week:
Erm, last week I got a bit distracted by the super-fun Pink Carnation Series. Thus, it put a bit of a damper on my reading plans for the week...whups!
- Substitute Me by Lori L. Tharps (review coming soonly)
- The Secret History of the Pink Carnation by Lauren Willig
- The Masque of the Black Tulip by Lauren Willig
- The Deception of the Emerald Ring by Lauren Willig
- The Seduction of the Crimson Rose by Lauren Willig
- The Temptation of the Night Jasmine by Lauren Willig
- The Betrayal of the Blood Lily by Lauren Willig
- The Orchid Affair by Lauren Willig
This week:
I'm planning on finishing up The Sisters Brothers by Patrick DeWitt as well as -
- Caleb's Crossing by Geraldine Brooks
- Kindred by Octavia Butler (which I was planning on reading last week)
- The Good Thief by Hannah Tinti

Mailbox Monday is a touring meme where book bloggers share their bookish acquisitions from the week prior. It is hosted this month by MariReads.
This week I received one ARC in the mail - The Twisted Thread by Charlotte Bancon - and it looks very intriguing and a bit sinister.
I also bought a few books this past week:
The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N. K. Jemisin - love me some good fantasy!
Also, since it's the start of grilling season I picked up the yumilicious Latin Grilling by Lourdes Castro
And lastly, I bought Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan
Check out the trailer here (while I am a bit of a magpie, what really sold me was: "and there's a musical").
Wow! I wish I could get the amount of reading in that you do in a week! I am very impressed!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Monday Post

ReplyDeleteHere's MY MONDAY MEMES POST
@Lisa: I normally don't accomplish so much reading...being sick this week helped :)

ReplyDeleteI have quite a few of the pink carnation series but haven't read them yet. I need to do that after reading how much you enjoyed them. Twisted Thread has a creepy cover. Those are some piercing eyes that gal has!
ReplyDeleteWow! When you say a series put a "damper" on your reading I think I'd hate to see when it doesn't, you got a lot of reading done! Love it! Enjoy will grayson, will grayson...it's supposed to be wonderful, plus I love David Levithan!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fabulous reading week and if you get a second stop my to see what I've been reading at There's A Book! :)
Love the variety in your mailbox. The cookbook looks fantastic!
ReplyDeletePredictability is nice when sick. I hope you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteMy list this week is inflated with picture books that I read with my daughter and manga that I read over my morning coffee. Come see what I'm reading this week.
